Adventures in Chocolate Chip Cookie making

Feb 25th 2011 a big day, Sophie's first try at helping in the kitchen. I mean really helping, up on a chair, touching the mixing bowls and ingredients. Taste testing. Wearing an apron. Being a certified "big girl"!  Here is the photo documentary of her big day.

Helping to add ingredients to the bowl.

Ooooh flour!

She wanted to taste test and feel the flour.

Using the mixer. She had to keep her hands on top of mine for safety. She was not sure about the sound the mixer made.

We had to call daddy to help with batter licking. Yep contains raw egg, we live dangerously around here.

She found a moment to sample a bit of cookie dough. Every good chef does this. Never trust a skinny chef!

Finished product in the dough phase.

YUM! Need I say more?

This will soon be a cookie she eats.

First batch out of the oven

Very first chocolate chip cookie, still warm.

Mmmmm

Heavenly goodness....

How much can she shove in one bite?

All finished!

Here is that famous tongue we almost never see anymore.
We had meatloaf too. Made with Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ, Maple syrup and Ketchup. Yum.
Fresh steamed Veggie medley: Truth be told she only ate 25% of that cookie, even though it looks like more from her face. She ate almost all of the broccoli in this photo.

  1. Love the video documentary! Looks like you both had a memorable time! Corbin is looking at this with me and said, "Mom! I want chocolate chip cookies! I wish you would make some." So, thanks a lot for showing him that you are more fun than I.

P.S. Genius: Never trust a skinny chef! Also, thanks for getting "The Muffin Man" in my head.
