Autumn

Autumn is here, the scent is in the air, the leaves are falling, the sneeze count is up. Tink went to her first Halloween party and seemed to enjoy herself until she started to overheat in her costume. I really wanted to take her photo in a big pile of freshly raked leaves. During one of her naps I worked up a sweat raking up every last leaf in the yard to make a medium size pile. I was so happy when she woke up and I could get a leaf photo. She had other ideas in mind, like, being terrified of the leaf pile. I am saying crocodile tear, quivering lip and body all out terrified of the leaf pile. I found this funny and puzzling at the same time. Left to her own devices in the yard she makes a beeline for leaves, she rips them up, eats them, licks them and otherwise is fascinated by them. However if you take many of those leaves and place them together in a pile somehow they go from fascinating to frightening.  I don't understand it. I thought maybe it was just a bad day. I tried again the next day, I kept her in her bee costume for extra padding and comfort. No luck, the leaves were still very scary. That's ok, maybe next year. I did get a few candid shots which I will share here as well as some shots from her playgroup.

Say cheese my beautiful autumn gal!

A crossover between a smile and a cry

The only photo I have of her sitting in a leaf pile among the leaves, not crying. It did not last long.

Still pouting about the leaves, trying to get away from them

Bribery with a snack, a veggie stick (or a "french fry" as I call them)
My glum pumpkin picker

Please Mom, no, I don't like leaves in a pile.

Get me out now, please!

The girl who really just did not like leaves piled up.

Ah this is better, out of the leaf pile with a pumpkin to play with.

Standing in the leaves was a little better, but not a lot better.

She is well aware I want her to smile, she is trying so hard, but the leaves are just too frightening.
This wasn't too bad.

All smiles if Mama sits in the leaves and takes her photo outside of the leaf pile :)

Serious business now, time to explore the pumpkins.
Little pumpkin for little hands.

Just her size.

The hood on was just unacceptable.

Inching her way towards a lone leaf on the ground between my feet, but keeping a tight grip on Mama's leg.

Has to keep one hand on mama, so those leaves don't gobble her up.

Bees fly so I gave her an autumn flight.

There is the busy bee I know and love.

Really getting daredevlish with her honey bee flight!
The beginnings of the monster mash. A puppy , a bee and a pumpkin!

The bee and pumpkin share a purse

The bee and the pumpkin roasting in their costumes.

The bee shed her stripes, and chilled out in the kitchen

A veggie snack on the kitchen floor.

The cook is in the kitchen.

The busy bee cook not sure she wants to share the kitchen with the fairy
She has developed an interest in the camera and how it works. She was exploring it while I was snapping away.

Trying to figure out how to get my lens cap back on.

Hard at work concentrating on the camera and studying it.

Playing with the camera strap

That's all folks, busy bee is buzzing outta here.
