State park living

Smiles along the River bank
The Dam - As close as we get to a waterfall around here.
Ready to dive in!
It has now been just over a year ago we moved into the pretty state park area. It has been a whole year and we had not yet walked the state park trails, until today. Technically we could walk to them from our house, however that would mean walking a half mile along a winding road. A winding road notorious for speeding motorcyclists looking for a thrill. As much as I desperately want to walk because it would be easier than loading up and unloading a stroller and a baby, we chose to drive because it is safer. I have already had too many close encounters with motorcycles that don't see me while getting my mail. I am sure one of them will flip a bike one day or run into me. As thrilling as it is to take those deep S curves on the road as fast as they can, they forget there are people living here, toddlers, babies, deer around every turn. I am glad we went tonight, the park was absolutely beautiful! It had pretty running water, a dam, a swinging suspension bridge. We saw kids and adults playing in the water. We saw deer, birds and butterflies. It was lovely. As usual, I took along my camera and took photos of all the sights. I took all of these except the ones that I am in. Quite a few of the ones of Sophie and I turned out blurry. This new camera is great, except it requires a little more manual control than the last one. I forgot to warn Scott of that. Plus it was evening and the lighting was not as good. So sorry folks, less Sophie photos today, but plenty of state park sights to enjoy! Also - You should be able to click on the individual photos to make them larger, they will pop up in another screen.

  1. You're a good momma. I like how you're showing her God's beauty in the great outdoors. (I need to do more with my Littles.)
